Join Our Team as a Residential Children’s Care Worker – Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Temp roles also available)
Shifts: 12-hour shifts on a 24-hour rota (Day & Night positions available)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – therefore, the client is unable to accept any candidate with a 20-hour restriction including sponsored candidates and students.

About the Role:
As part of our care team, you will work in a therapeutic, child-centered residential setting supporting young people with diverse needs. You’ll help implement care plans and mental health interventions, promote a secure and nurturing environment, and play a crucial role in their day-to-day life and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a safe, caring, and structured home environment.
  • Develop and implement care plans and activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Build trusting relationships with young people, promoting confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with families and external professionals (including Local Authorities).
  • Escort young people to appointments and support them in daily routines.
  • Complete accurate documentation and maintain care records to a high standard.
  • Be prepared to use de-escalation strategies and PMVA techniques where needed.

About You:
Essential:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
  • Experience in residential childcare settings.
  • UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance).
  • Understanding of SEND, SEMH, and the challenges faced by young people.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours including nights and weekends.
