Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Greater Manchester

Salary: £50,000 per annum
Location: Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Temp positions available)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (3 x 12-hour shifts + 1.5 hrs for supervision/training) – therefore, the client is unable to accept any candidate with a 20-hour restriction including sponsored candidates and students.

Are you passionate about mental health and want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our multi-disciplinary team within a therapeutic residential setting.

About the Role:
As an RMN, you’ll work as part of a supportive care team, bringing your clinical expertise to support the mental and physical wellbeing of children and young people who have experienced trauma, learning disabilities, or autism. Your contribution will be essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing support to children and young people within the home.
  • Deliver therapeutic, trauma-informed interventions alongside the care team.
  • Collaborate on and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour analysis reports.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records including hourly logs shared with the management and psychology teams.
  • Participate in shift handovers, supervisions, and ongoing training.
  • Ensure high standards of evidence-based, person-centred care.

What We’re Looking For:
Essential:

  • Qualified and registered RMN (NMC registration).
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with distressed behaviours.
  • Understanding of trauma, autism, learning disabilities, and the impact of unmet emotional needs.

Desirable:

  • PMVA (Prevention & Management of Violence and Aggression) training.

Key Skills:

  • Empathy, patience, and a trauma-informed mindset.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of the biopsychosocial model and collaborative care approaches.
